Building and Grounds

Contractors are still working on new building. Butch Manzari has kept close watch of construction. The wiring that Don Slocum questioned is legal and acceptable. There are some items that have to be discussed with the contactor.

  1. The four tube lights.
  2. Bathroom floor-ceramic tile
  3. Six panel exterior doors
  4. Foundation coating.
  5. Outside lights w/motion detectors.

OSHA also had some correction to be made at the Town Barn.

  1. Confined space at water pits have to be checked with snuffer for ventilation for oxygen and air pump. Need a program to do this properly. The program and training is in force.
  2. Guard has to be put around all spinning shafts on pumps. This is all taken care of.
  3. Eye wash station. This is all taken care of.
  4. OSHA said we have to have the pressure tank for the heating system moved 3 feet from the electrical box. This has been done.

Dale Sellen will work with the highway department, Kenneth Manzari will work with Building Codes, Laurie Fessenden will continue to work with programs and grants and Ronald Marshall will continue to work with Buildings and Grounds.

PROGRAMS AND GRANTS

Laurie will check with Peter Cardamone about 2002 Swim Program. Rich has not heard from School Board since they were sent the letter. Laurie will send another letter for the April School Board Meeting.

Highway Report

With the help from Niles, Ledyard, Doug Reeves and Don Worsell's trucks the parking lot at the New Town Hall was raised up with bank run gravel and crumb stone in some areas. Still needs a few loads of stone. Also hauled a good many loads of fill dirt from our old gravel bank to fill around the south side of the building. Snow finally got here so we were taking care of the roads.

Water Report

There was an average of 66,000 gallons of water per day in December. There were three bids received on the new telemetry system. David Reeves will open them and give the report. Rich explained how he billed delinquent water taxes on contract water users in November 2001 so it could be included with the land taxes.
