Building and Grounds
Genoa Town Board agreed to have lawyer go over DEC Contract for the upcoming sale of
Hunting Licenses. Joseph Philip has painted the stairway at the New Town Hall. Open
House was a success and we were glad to see so many people come and socialize. We had a
lot of compliments on the Town Hall. A
few members were there from other area townships to see the building. Their towns are
interested in putting in a New Town Hall. There have been some donations from our town
citizens. These donations are for trees and shrubs for the landscaping project. They
can be in memory of or how ever you
would like them. Ellen Marshall is in charge of the landscaping. We know she will do a
good job. Look at her and Ron's home. Butch Manzari has put up some of the blinds.
They look very nice. John Mann reported on the signs for the Town Hall. Mark's Glass
will make the signs. The sign will be
located so it will be visible from Route 90 and Bartnick Road. There will also be signs
with directions to the back of the building to let people know where they can reach the
Town Assessor and Town Code Enforcement Offices.
PROGRAMS AND GRANTS
No one has gotten back to us from the Southern Cayuga School Board about this years
summer swim program. Laurie will write another letter and ask to be put on the agenda
for the April 22, 2002 meeting.
CODE ENFORCEMENT
Wayne submitted his report of new building permits and inspections he has completed for
the month of March 2002.
Highway Report
Working on roller. Getting steering straightened up. Took it to Nu Way Hydraulic to be
rebuilt. Had to make drive way ramps on each side of Blakely Road Bridge so we could get
into work on railings and weld new posts on beams. We are getting the new posts welded
fast, etc. Getting trucks and
plows cleaned up and plows and wings painted from winter. Hopefully we've seen the last
of winter. Agreement to spend Highway Funds handed out to Town Board. Butch went to the
Home Owners Program.
Water Report
Average daily water usage for March 2002 was 85,000 gallons. David Reeves talked to
Environmintation and they said the new telemetry system would be in by May 1, 2002.
Bids for lawn mowing for the summer of 2002 are as follows.
Jeffrey Cuddeback $90.00, Sidney Reeves $60.00, Greco's Mowing and Weed Eating $105.00
plus $70.00 for Town Hall, A&M Service $105, Mike Foster $100.00, and Elegant Estates
$300.00 with Town Hall $475.00.
The Genoa Town Board chose Sidney Reeves with the lowest bid of $60.00 for mowing just
the pump areas. Will decide amount for Town Hall when time comes to start mowing it.

Water Committee
The initial meeting of the Genoa Town Water Board took place three weeks prior to The
Town Board Meeting. John Mann is Chairman, Michael Piechuta is Secretary. They decided
to have a special meeting with Karen Shields water clerk, Donald Potter, and Richard
Harrison. This meeting will help to
decide changes that need to be made in the water department. The water board also talked
to Steve Farkas about using Lansing Water department as a backup if needed. Ann Petris
chairperson of the Cayuga County Water Board is looking into finding grant money both
federal and state for the project.
Ronald Marshall pointed out that Lansing was more interested than they were a few years
ago., Bolton Point does not use 10% of their allowance. They represent five
municipalities.
