REGULAR MEETING, GENOA TOWN BOARD JUNE 11, 2003
A Regular meeting of the Genoa Town Board was held on June 11, 2003 at the Genoa Town
Hall 1000 Bartnick Road, Genoa, New York 13071.
The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M.

Water Report and Water Committee Report
John Mann reviewed the update to water meters and program for billing. Payments for
these two items will be over a 2-year period. The Town of Genoa lawyer James Baker did
not see it necessary for any change in the present town water law. Contracts are treated
same as regular customers only
difference is the taxes are billed separately rather than on their annual tax bills.
David Reeves will let the company know of our decision.

Building and Grounds
Phil Thayer has finished the
Basement and it looks great.
Jake VanBenschoten has finished working on the
Landscaping and that also looks great. Good job guys.
Sid Reeves will mow the lawn.
Programs and Grants
Lorie has completed the Town of Genoa Recreational Swim Program for summer 2003.
Directors will be Cathy Murray and Drew Gross. Instructors will be Michelle Scott,
Elizabeth Gross, Hilary Lucas, Jeff Butzer, Kim Wheeler and Ryan Jackson. The substitute
instructors will be Mary Beth Mahaney and
Colleen Lucas. Bus driver is Deb Garber.
The cost of labor will be $ 750.00. Other estimated cost will be SCCS-diesel fuel
$200.00, Advertising-$30.00 and Miscellaneous-$50.00. Total estimated expenditures are
$4,410.00. The total budget is $4,300.00 Estimated negative balance -$170.00.

Permits issued Joe Redder-pole barn, First Presbyterian Church-Bathroom and sill, Philip
Thayer-addition to pole barn, and David Reeves-addition to garage.
Inspections conducted. First Presbyterian church-yearly inspection, Betsy Ingall-frame
inspection, Mark Walters-check progress, Mead- basement walls, Betsy Ingall-partial
frame, Betsy Ingall-frame, Mark Walters-check progress, Gary Christopher-check progress
and Brennan-issued certificate of
occupancy.
Highway Report
May 2003.
We had Cayuga County haul our John Deere Loader to 5 Star in Syracuse. Head gasket
leaking and due for injectors and general tune up anyway. Finally got rid of plow and
sanders. Welded steel plates I 89 Freight Liner box and sides to fix holes. Guys
changed transmission in Drott, also torque
converter. Seems to be OK. Got starter changed on Dozer and hopefully finished up rough
grade work at town office. Also put cement blocks around LP gas tank. Frank rewired
lights on 951H. Dave graded. Replaced a few driveway pipes.
June 2003
We dug out a soft section of road on Sills road and repaired that. Guy's hauled blacktop
from pug mill to Burtless road in Scipio. We had to have new front springs on Freight
Liner. Cleaned a little ditch on Tupper Road by Eldred's Shop. Working south of Forks
removing trees and brush so we can
move the road over. I did attend Highway school in Ithaca (my 30th year). Guys hauling
stone for our projects and also gravel for Venice. Dave has been grading-Al mowing and
patching. Highway agreement is enclosed. The figures are General repair $70,000.00,
Creek road from Rt 90 to Center
$11,303.00, Weeks road from Lane to Breed $4,236.00, Tupper road from Rt 34 to Co. Line
$9,227.00 and Sill road from Tupper to Lansing Line $1,883.00.

few changes to be made.

OLD BUSINESS
4.5% will be contributed to pension
fund.
NEW BUSINESS
Bell Town Ladies would like to have their route 90 yard sale day at the same spot by the
Town Hall. The board was in agreement.
GHA business. The Board will not at this time make any changes to shelving at
The GHA Building. Rich will get back to them as far as how much the town supports. The
second of the law suits from Minnow ahs been solved. Patsy Sellen representing the Genoa
Auxiliary wants permission to put flags on the light poles in the town . The board
agreed.
