REGULAR MEETING, GENOA TOWN BOARD march 10, 2004
A Regular meeting of the Genoa Town Board was held on March 10, 2004 at the Genoa Town
Hall 1000 Bartnick Road, Genoa, New York 13071.
The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M.

WATER REPORT:
70,000 gallons per day in february 2004. The change over kits for the meters
are were ordered and 32 of them are in. Put in 15 new meters and 1 new hydrant.
The bid for mowing at 4 sites. The two water tanks, the pump house and the town hall.
The suggestion was made that the lowest bidder do all mowing. This will includ
trimming also. David Reeves and Mark Connor would like to attend the convention at
Kerhonkson on May 17, 2004 thru May 20, 2004. This convention will cover all
the water classes. Reservation should be made by April 17, 2004. The deposit
should be in at that time also. These classes are for certification. The cost is
$940.00
to the NY rural water council.

WATER COMMITTEE:
Water Committee will have a meeting on Monday night. Will discuss having a water
authority
panel. The water committee will have its own person to do the billing.
BUILDING AND GROUNDS:
None.
CODE ENFORCEMENT:
Permits issue were Littlejohn, KF Winery, Folts, and Cornell. Inspection completed were
KF Winery, Detzer, Eicker, KF Winery, Cornell, Miller, Folts, Reynolds, Cornell, and KF
Winery.
Received letter from Gene Reynolds wanting to know about the Pyhtila building
and why it has not been moved. The board will let this stand for the time being.
Variance
request submitted by Veronica Purser. MS Purser requests a variance from 150'footage
on Hill rd., to 142'. Attended seminar in Liverpool on February 19th.
HIGHWAY REPORT:
Snow and wind has kept us very busy. Pushing back shoulders has found the weak spots in
our equipment. Have had to repair or replace cables, pulleys, cylinders, and brace arms
etc.
Peter Saltonstall informed us that he is closing on at least six lots, on Brooks and
Middlecott roads.
This will mean tow more lane miles to plow and sand. Have concerns of whether the pickup
can handle
another year of plowing. Maybe we should consider something bigger with something other
than
a driveway plow to handle the snow. Plow is twisted and been repaired many times and is
getting
very thin. In January we've distributed 408 ton of salt and sand mix on state roads and
350 ton
on town and county roads.

OLD BUSINESS:
The new insurance policy presented by Bill chambberlain will save the Town of Genoa
$17,529.96.
Central polling place:
District 1&2 will vote at the Town Hall. There will be no change in voting process
just in where it will be. Board of Elections will be notified. We will put on May
agenda and in meantime check with the fire Districts.
Dale Sellen went to the county meeting about the herendous bill the towns got for
insurance
error back in 2001 and 2002.
Discussed haveing central poling place for Genoa and King Ferry at
The Town Hall.
