A Regular meeting of the Genoa Town Board was held on June 09, 2004 at the Genoa Town Hall 1000 Bartnick Road, Genoa, New York 13071.

WATER REPORT:

David and Mark went to the conference and were very pleased with the program. There were 13 classes to attend. David has about 60 meters to install yet. Should order 20 more meters. The average for May 2004 was about 72,000 gallons per day.

WATER COMMITTEE:

Cheryl reported that Tom Hamilton will be at their next meeting on June 28, 2004. She is still checking water rates in other towns.

BUILDING AND GROUNDS:

Cheryl will get in touch with Tina Turek for the bushes.

PROGRAMS AND GRANTS:

Lori should hear about how much we will get for the repository update and shelving about June 25, 2004. Any new grant applications are due December 1, 2004. Lori will bring in list of any new grants available.

CODE ENFORCEMENT:

Permits Issued:

Jack Ward, George Santerre, John Eframaon, Robert Bachta, Donald Slocum, and John Boles.

Inspections:

Guy Green, Brong, Brong, Beesmer, Lauries Place, Boles, Turek, Callear, Turek and Littlejohn.

HIGHWAY REPORT:

Completed hauling 2400 ton of item #4 from Seneca Stone for paving job on East Venice Road scheduled for last part of June. Took Freightliner to Caskey's for a new air compressor and governor. Al & I've been ditching every chance we can, trying to keep up with the storms we've had. Borrowed Village of Aurora's sewer cleaner and unplugged culvert over on Clearview, after three tries we won. Ditched Bartnick Road, installed new culvert for John Connor. Helped Scipio blacktop. Bernie and I went to Harrisville for meeting on new ten wheeler. Graded and picked up shoulders on Weeks Road still needs more ditching, but should be much better. Frank attended Highway School at Ithaca College. Agreement To Spend Town Highway Funds: General Repair-The sum of $60,000 may be expended for the general repair upon 43.41 miles of Town Highways, and receiving from the State for the repair and improvement of Highways, shall be expended as follows:

1-GENERAL REPAIRS: The sum of $60,000 ,may be expended for general repairs upon 43.41 miles of Town Highways, including sluices, culverts and bridges having a sum of less than five feet and boardwalks or the renewals there of

2- IMPROVEMENTS: The following sums shall be set aside to be expended for the improvements to Town Highways.

a) On East Venice road commencing at Rt. 90 and leading to Shingle Valley a distance of 1 mile, there mile to be expended not over the sum of $60.000.

Type of project to Rebuild Base/Drainage/Culverts width of traveled surface 20 feet. thickness 3.5 inches/compressed.

b) On Center Road commencing at Indian Field Road and leading to Creek Road a distance of .50 miles, there shall be expended not over the sum of $50,000.

Type of project, Rebuild Base/Drainage & Culverts width of traveled surface 20 feet thickness 12"/with fabric/stabilization.

c) On Indian Field Road commencing at Lansing Town Line and leading to Blakley Road a distance of .83 miles, there shall be expended not over the sum of $9,000.

Type of project Double chip seal width of traveled surface 20ft/2 coats thickness.

Pay raises for Highway department:

Highway Superintendent $36,500. Mark Connor $.50 @ hour. Effective July 1, 2004 in completion of their six month probation.

ASSESSORS REPORT: None

Justice Report:

Honorable Kim Bennett addressed the Town Board with a request for a Court Clerk. He also gave a nice report of what the Justice does and the information about the grant he has applied for. This will give him some new office and computer equipment.

OLD BUSINESS:

Stuart went to Andy Fusco's office. His fees are $115.00 each hour. Andy suggested that we look ahead to next year for new laws or updates to old laws for the budget next year. Then we might be able to have him on a retainer for 2005. Andy will come back and set down with the Town Board and discuss question they might have. Motion to entertain Andy Fusco's services for the remainder of 2004 at $115.00 @ hour:

Minnow vs./Town of Genoa case is complete finally. The Town is now responsible to pay the lawyers that took over after William Mayer got done the sum of $6,071.06. We will pay $3,000 now and the balance after we receive a better itemized bill that is clear to everyone.

NEW BUSINESS:

Meeting at Aurora Firehouse with the Town of Ledyard was very informative. The Town of Genoa will host the next meeting at the Genoa Fire House on 07/29-04.

The Town Board will get in touch with Rick Woodhouse to see his feelings on voting at the Town Hall. This does not mean we are going to give up our two voting places it only means both voting machines will be at the same location.

The complete water billing will be turned over to the deputy clerk as of 6-10-04.
