We will check to see what fuel will be billed to us for our 2005 swim program. This is to insure we have enough in budget to cover all expenses.

HIGHWAY REPORT:

Frank Sellen

In March we used 326 tons of mix on state roads and 267 tons on county and town roads. The freezing and thawing has been tough on our road surfaces. Men have been working on plow equipment, painting, rust removal and repair. Had an electrical problem with Freight Liner, which resulted in a minor meltdown of wire and hoses. Caskey's Garage repaired, and truck is back in service. The 3" rainfall we had found a lot of plugged culverts and done damage to some roads. Men and I worked Saturday night and Sunday morning making them passable. Still can use a lot to ditcher work. We ended up getting Randy Bossard Saturday night to unplug our bridge on Weeks Road. Our ditcher wouldn't build air. I went to Albany with the Highway Association to fight for our C.H.I.P.S. money, and long term plan for increases. Quite interesting. Have been looking at ditchers and specs for presentation to the board to hopefully bid one. Pickup was again bumped, New date is 4-25-05. Premium increased $500.00. Insurance now $4,200.00.
